This is the first post on the Cerium blog, so let's start with the basics - who we are and why we exist.

Cerium is a school management system built for small and medium schools: language, music, and dance studios. We know what running a school like that actually looks like - schedules in Excel, payments scattered across emails and sticky notes, attendance tracked by hand. Cerium brings all of that into one place.

What you can do in Cerium:

• plan classes and manage groups,

• keep student lists and track attendance,

• handle payments, including recurring ones, with flexible per-student pricing,

• issue invoices,

• get a clear view of what's happening at your school without clicking through five different tools.

Why another system? Because most options out there are either too expensive for a small school, or built for large chains and clunky as a result. We're deliberately keeping Cerium simple, and priced to make sense for a school with a few dozen or a few hundred students.

On this blog we'll write about what's new in Cerium, practical tips for people running schools, and a behind-the-scenes look at how we build the product.
