Vocabulary

Students revise their words anyway - only in someone else's app the school cannot see. Here the teacher builds the set after the lesson and every student's reviews are counted separately.

What this module does

4
grades under the card, from “again” to “easy”
21 days
interval from which a word counts as mastered
20
cards in one session, about what fits in a break
100
sets on Pro, 300 on the School plan

A set belongs to a group

Words are typed once, for the whole course, and can be pinned to a specific lesson. Every student gets them to practise and keeps their own progress.

Ten words in three seconds

„Add from text” takes a list pasted from a notebook or from Word and recognises pairs split by a dash, a semicolon or a tab. The preview shows what will go in before anything is saved.

Cards come back when it pays off

After every grade the system works out a new interval: a word the student knows comes back in a week, one they failed comes back the same day.

You see what the group forgets

Every word shows how many times someone got it wrong and how many students already know it. That is a ready-made list to revise in class.

Drafts stay inside the school

A set starts as a draft and students do not see it. Only publishing lets the words into their reviews, and archiving takes them off the list without wiping the progress.

Who sees what

A module is a permission, and which records may be touched is settled on write, not in the menu.

RoleSeesChanges
OwnerSets of every group, the words and the stats: who reviewed, where the group slips, what it mastered.Everything: sets in any group, words, publishing, archive and deletion.
MethodologistThe same as the owner: the module is on by default, as they run the school together. The same as the owner, not narrowed to their own groups.
TeacherSets of the groups they teach, cover included, and the sets they created themselves.Sets and words in the groups they are assigned to. In other groups the cells stay locked.
StudentPublished sets of their own groups with a bar - mastered, learning, new - and today's cards.Only their own reviews: a grade after each card. Words and sets stay untouched.

The details nobody asks about during a demo

The things that only surface in the third week of working with the module.

What this module does not do
  • grades for words - the mark goes into the Journal, here only the card's return date counts
  • a typing mode - the card reveals the translation and asks for self-assessment, no typo check
  • sound or pictures next to a word - files belong to E-learning
  • CSV export or a retention chart - they make sense only after a year of review history

From the grade the student gives themselves under the card. “Good” climbs a ladder: back after 1 day, then after 6, then the interval grows by the word's ease. “Easy” stretches it by another 30%, “hard” barely moves it, and “again” resets progress so the card returns the same day. The interval is capped at 365 days. The database sets the due date by the school's clock, not the student's phone.

No. “My words” lists only published, non-archived sets, and only from groups the student belongs to. The server narrows it, not the screen. Team routes - the table of sets and the group stats - stay closed to the student even though they have the module; the same tab sends them to their reviews.

No. A teacher creates sets and edits words where they are assigned to the group. They read more widely: sets of the groups they teach, cover included, and the ones they created. The right to write travels with every row, so in someone else's set the cells are locked instead of failing after a click. The owner and the methodologist write in any group.

Pro holds 100 sets per school and 200 words in a single set, the School plan 300 and 500. Drafts and archived sets count too, because an archived set keeps its words and reviews just like a published one; deleting frees the room. Review states are not limited. The set screen shows the word limit with the list, so “Add from text” knows it right away.

Nothing is lost. Archiving takes the set off “My words”, but the review states stay in the database, and restoring gives students their cards back in the same place. Deletion is different: the set takes its words and every review with it, and that cannot be undone. A deleted lesson takes no words with it - the set only loses its link to that lesson.

Paste it into “Add from text”. One line is one pair, split by a tab, a semicolon, an equals sign or a dash with spaces on both sides. An en dash with spaces works too, because Word turns dashes into one on autocorrect. The preview shows the recognised pairs and the lines that could not be split before anything is saved. One paste holds 200 words.

No. A guardian does not have this module and it cannot be granted: reviewing is the student's work, and a parent is not meant to do it for the child. How much the student knows reaches the parent through Student reports, written by the teacher with a comment. The school sees progress in the set table: for each word, how many students mastered it and how often someone slipped on it.

Not here. Vocabulary has no scale or points: it only works out when to bring a card back. A grade for words goes into the Journal. Anyone who wants a test with a score and a pass mark has a word-list type in Exercises. In return the teacher sees in the set table how many students reviewed in the last 7 days, and for each word where the group slips.
