Who it is for: Tutoring

Cerium for tutors

One person runs it all from a phone: the student books the lesson, online lessons happen in Cerium with a whiteboard, and the parent sees progress and pays for the lessons that took place. For a tutor and a small tutoring centre.

One student, from enquiry to final exam

This is how a student moves through, whether you teach alone or with a few people. Each step is a module that hands its data to the next, so you never retype anything.

  1. Enquiry from your business profile

A parent fills in the form from a link or a QR code on your Google business profile, and the enquiry lands in the pipeline with a stage and a next step.

    CRM
  2. Entry test

A new student takes the test from a public link, without an account. The result goes to the enquiry in the pipeline, so you come to the first lesson prepared.

    Placement test
  3. 1:1 lesson

The student gets a group of their own with one seat. The subject is a field (“maths, final exam”), and the level is a step on the A1-C2 scale, which in tutoring is only a convention.

    Groups
  4. The student picks the slot

You enter a weekly window, and the student or parent picks a free slot in the panel. The booking is a lesson in the schedule and the register straight away. The module is in beta.

    Bookings
  5. Online lesson

You open the video room from the Schedule, and the student joins from their own register. Next to the video there is a whiteboard, and the drawing waits for the next lesson.

    Online lessons
  6. Register

Attendance, topic and homework with a due date and a material or a link, entered from your phone right after the lesson.

    Journal
  7. Exam syllabus

Chapters in order and “where we are” worked out from the lessons held, so you can see how much is left before the exam.

    Course programme
  8. Exercises

The student solves exercises checked against the key, and the result goes into the register with one click.

    Exercises
  9. Paying for lessons held

The instalment is worked out from the rate and the number of lessons in the month, and the parent pays from a link or with a card charged automatically.

    Finance
  10. Report for the parent

Attendance, grades and homework with your comment, frozen and sent to the parent as a link. At the end of the course you can issue a certificate.

A tutor’s day

There is no desk between one lesson and the next. Everything you do around a lesson fits on your phone.

  1. You open the Dashboard

The day’s lessons are listed in order, with the student, subject and mode.

  2. You open the lesson

One tap opens it in the register.

  3. You mark attendance

One student, one tap, and lateness right away with the number of minutes.

  4. Topic and chapter

You enter the topic and point to the syllabus chapter the lesson covered.

  5. Homework with a link

A task with a due date and a material from E-learning or a web address.

  6. The parent knows

They see it in their account and get one digest notification, not an email after every click.

The panel runs in the phone’s browser and is designed from a width of 390 px. An App Store and Google Play app with push notifications is in the works.

Lessons, cancellations and make-ups

Almost everything is one-to-one. Lessons sit in one schedule and one register, so there is no second calendar to keep an eye on.

Weekly window beta

Day, hours, lesson length, online or in-person mode and room. You block single days separately.

Bookings

One rule for cancellations beta

Before a set number of hours the lesson disappears. After it, the lesson stays as “cancelled late” and counts towards the instalment, and the student sees this before clicking.

Bookings

Make-up and extra lessons

You add them with the “Add lesson” button next to the regular slots, and a new series does not overwrite them.

Groups

Days off

A day-off entry cancels lessons in its range, and the series skips it.

Schedule

Instalment from lessons held

The “per lesson” plan works out the instalment from the rate and the lessons in the month, and recalculates it after every schedule change.

Finance

Lesson packages with an expiry date (for example ten lessons in three months) are not available today. Payment is by instalment plan or for lessons held.

Questions we hear most often

Short answers, no overpromising. What is missing is listed alongside.

What Cerium does not do here
  • Lesson packages with an expiry date are not available today. For a private primary school there is a separate plan with the Classes module (pilot).
  • No Zoom, Meet or Teams: online lessons happen in Cerium.
  • No Google Calendar sync: the schedule lives in Cerium.
  • This is not a register for public schools: Librus and Vulcan do what the ministry requires.

Yes. The owner of the space is also a teacher and teaches lessons like anyone on the team, so a tutor working alone needs nobody else. When a second teacher joins, they get access to their own lessons.

The Pro plan is 40 € net per month (170 zł net for a school from Poland), with up to 100 students and 10 teachers included and every module.

Yes, in the Bookings module (beta). You enter a weekly window, and the student or parent picks a free slot in the panel. Slots taken by other lessons, blocks and days off are skipped, and the booking is a lesson in the schedule and the register straight away.

You set how many hours before a lesson a cancellation has no consequences. Earlier, the lesson disappears from the schedule; later, it stays as “cancelled late” and counts towards the “per lesson” instalment. The student sees what will happen before clicking.

Yes. The video room is in Cerium: you open it from the Schedule for an online lesson, and the student joins from their own register. Next to the video there is a whiteboard you both write on (you freeze it with one click), and the lesson version stays in its history. The room is open from 15 minutes before the lesson to 60 minutes after it ends.

No. Lesson packages with an expiry date are not available today. Payment is by instalment plan or for lessons held: the instalment is worked out from the rate and the number of lessons not cancelled in the month.
